Erni went to be with the Lord on Monday July 16th at the Keever Solace Center surrounded by family and friends. She was originally from Seymour, Indiana and was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. She left behind a huge family who will miss her dearly including her husband, Rick Wood; sons, Bart (Sherry) Fitzpatrick, Brett Fitzpatrick, daughters Tippy (Jeff) Young and Tiffany Sizemore; six grandchildren, Timothy Sizemore, Erin Young, Ricky Sizemore, Madison Fitzpatrick, Sienna Fitzpatrick and Sophie Fitzpatrick, and her precious puppy, Cammie. She is also survived by sisters, Arthella Brower and Sharon Byers and a brother Tip Shields.
A celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Skyland Fire Department Main Station on Friday July 20th at 2:30pm. All her friends and her extended family of firefighters and Sheriff's Officers are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation, 2501 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 250, Raleigh, NC 27607 or to the Buncombe County Firefighters Honor Guard, PO Box 640, Skyland, NC 28776.

Erni was our baby sister, she and I were very close growing up. I use to have to carry her up the stairs to bed when she fell asleep on the floor watching TV in the living room. I loved her very much and will always miss her. I needed her in my life. She was always fun to be around. She made me laugh. She was a beautiful person. Please God accept her into your Kingdom.
