Myrtle McCurry Hill

Myrtle Violet McCurry Hill, born on May 17, 1919, formerly of Glen Bridge Road, Arden, NC, and Givens Estates Methodist Retirement Community, passed away on May 4, 2012, at a hospital in Oak Ridge, TN. Mrs. Hill was born in Weaverville, NC and was the daughter of the late George Washington and Elise McMahan McCurry. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheville, NC, and employed as a nurse, and owned and operated a beauty shop in her home in Arden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Hill, who passed away in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, and five sisters. Mrs. Hill is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sylvia Hill of Knoxville, TN, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, along with 11 nephews and nieces. A graveside memorial service will be held at Roberts Memorial Park on Long Shoals Road, in Arden at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012. The family will receive friends following the service.
